Hello Everyone. Intersted in Mount Kerinci in March 2010?

    Hi Guys,

    Glad to finally stumble upon this community. My name is Mahmud.

    I'm very much into hiking and outdoor activities. Previously in schooldays, my trips were mostly to mountains and waterfalls in Malaysia. For the past 3 or 4 years or so I'm exploring the Region too.

    I and couple of friends thinking of doing Mount Kerinci in Padang, Sumatra from 22nd March,2010 for about 1 week (incl. flight and sightseeing days).

    Anyone interested is most welcome to join. Also does anyone have some info and contacts on their local trek agencies?

    Hi Yazid,

    Yea man, I checked their website as well among other Indonesian agencies.. I got a contact in Indonesia too with whom I did Mount Semeru last year October. Other option we have is going there ourselves and then hiring the guide and porter at the Kersik tuo village (starting point). IT's quite doable as well... slightly more inconvenient tho but more cost effective.

    Since Tiger airways doesn't fly there anymore, our option is to go to Palembang and take land transport (longer distance) or to go padang via K.L. on airasia.

    Will update you with the plan as it unfolds By Mid Feb, we should be all confirmed.
