    Heyo!

If you are new to this forum, use this thread to introduce yourself!

Let me get the ball rolling, I'm Kian Ann - the owner of this site! Started trekking when I was in NUS because of my involvement as a committee member with one of the adventure clubs, NUS Rovers!

But that's like a long time ago now, and ever since I am out of school, I really haven't been trekking much, except for the very occasional trip - and I'm really looking forward to get back to nature and the outdoors.

Even a 3D2N Ophir hike would be fun!

Hi all, thanks to Kian Ann for coming up with this forum (great effort! :D)
I remember my maiden hike---Mt Ophir in 2000 with NYP adventure club. And nature has it's strange effects on mankind... you just keep going back to it and falling in love with it... really God's amazing handiwork! However, planning a trip takes time and effort.. but it's so worth it.. so I am glad to have this forum where like minded pp can gather and share experiences, trips, photos and even planning! Cheers!

Hello, im Carlo from the Philipiines and currently working here in Singapore.
I started trekking back home and had visited some mountains in Malaysia with my
Filipino friends here which are also experienced in mountain climbing back home. We have done some
informal trainings to some friends here that are new to this hobby. We have thought them
the Basic Mountaineering Course (Tropical Mountains) and some basic ropemanship course and
rapelling/abseiling. We just want to share what we have learned to help protect and preserve
the environment and practice low impact mountaineering.

Thanks Kian Ann for having this forum. This will be a great help to all outdoor enthusiasts.

    More power to you!

Thanks Kian Ann for setting up this forum!

My name is Su Chun. Fell in love with trekking only in recent years.. Mt Ophir (maiden trip like River), then Sapa Valley and in June this year, Mt Tahan. Looking forward to the exploration of Mt KK (which i have heard is really beautiful. In fact, the picture at the top of this webpage is pretty stunning) and Gunung Mulu, next year (when the weather is great again). Cheers! =)

    Hi eveyone!

I'm Carine. My last trek to Mt Ophir was some 15 yrs back. So i'm looking forward to be able to start trekking again. Frankly,a bit worried about my "physical condition" now but you got to start somewhere right?

    Cheers!
