Hi Guys,

Glad to finally stumble upon this community. My name is Mahmud.

I'm very much into hiking and outdoor activities. Previously in schooldays, my trips were mostly to mountains and waterfalls in Malaysia. For the past 3 or 4 years or so I'm exploring the Region too.

I and couple of friends thinking of doing Mount Kerinci in Padang, Sumatra from 22nd March,2010 for about 1 week (incl. flight and sightseeing days).

Anyone interested is most welcome to join. Also does anyone have some info and contacts on their local trek agencies?

Cheers..

Am visiting Sabah in Dec/Jan 2009. Any tips going up Mt Kinabalu? Trekking tips, accommodation tips, makan tips, shopping tips and any tips and advices which you think will be useful to me.

After spending several hours on Google, I discovered that there are many lodges near Kinabalu Park. Anyone tried one of these lodges?

I have 2 weeks to play/relax in Sabah/Borneo and really need some advices to spend my time "productively" and economically.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and just trying my luck. Would anyone be interested in trekking to Gunung Tahan on the above mentioned dates? I've got 2 other friends already and don't mind more kakis.

The plan is to take the traverse route (up via Merapoh and down to Kuala Tahan). Hence, the long duration of the trek. We will not be hiring porters so this trek is likely to be quite an ardous one.

Come join me! <img src="http://trekking.singaporeoutdoors.com/forum/bb-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Hi all,

I'm not a trekker myself, but my dad is 52 and has been dreaming about going on treks for a long time. He really loves nature and is very active, but has never been on a real trek before. I've heard that there are some amateur trekking clubs that he could get involved in, that would help him slowly scale up. I'm a little worried about him just going for a hard one right away. Would anyone be able to give me any recommendations? Any club that maybe my dad and I could join together?

Thanks so much!
