Jerangkang Waterfalls

Just two weeks back I met up with some of the Cynovate facilitators, and one of them suggested that we go for a short trek… and I suggested going to Berkelah waterfalls since it is one of the nicer short treks. Its been some time since I’ve been to Berkelah!

Later we were discussing and then we decided that since we were all experienced trekkers, we should go for an exploration trip instead. So… I’m planning for a “recce” trip to Berkelah (and I’m definitely going beyond the third waterfall to see what’s beyond) and another trip to Jerangkang waterfalls.

Jerangkang is a less common waterfalls trek situated very near to Berkelah! From what I read from various websites, it seems that Jerangkang has over 40 cascades! So excited! I’m still in the midst of planning the trip - because I’m still quite blur regarding how to get to the head of the Jerangkang trail.

Will post more when I get more information!

I have lead group to Jerangkang for about 4~5 times and it is easy. The starting point is the same as Berkelah on the main road and you will need to take a 4×4 to the foot of the waterfall about 45 min ride. If you need further info, just drop me an email. I will be more than happy to help a fellow trekker.

    Hi Spencer,

I’ve personally never been to Jerangkang myself, but here is what I know.

You first have to get to Kuantan terminal (normally we take a 11:30pm bus so we arrive there at 4 or 5am)

From Kuantan (express) bus terminal, you will have to walk to the local bus terminal - see map

There are two services in the local bus terminal that has buses to the Berkelah Restoran, Bee Huat and Sri Jangka. From contacts, it seems that Sri Jangka’s buses are hourly.

The bus ride is about 1 hour. After arriving at the restoran, you need to take a lorry in, 10 pax @ RM25 / pax (Contact: Dzolkifli 019-9176250) to the start of the trek!
